A woman recently came across a stray cat that was severely malnourished while she was out walking her dog. Hoping to help, she fed the cat with some cat food she had on hand.
Lured by her calls, the frail cat managed to approach her despite its evident weakness.
The cat’s pitiful condition was due to extreme malnutrition, making any movements a struggle.
Concerned that the cat might have difficulty consuming solid food, the woman decided to buy some milk to soften the cat food, making it easier for the animal to eat.

The cat finally started to nibble on the food, revealing its dark tear-stained eyes, yet showed no fear towards humans. She hoped that with continued feeding, the cat would regain its strength.
Taking further steps to ensure the cat’s recovery, the woman reached out to an animal welfare organization for help. After a medical examination, the results indicated severe liver damage and feline peritonitis.
The cat received immediate care at a veterinary hospital for two days before being sent home to continue its recovery. While at home, the cat received intravenous fluids and injections, with caution taken to avoid harm to its diminished frame.

Despite its frailty, the cat maintained normal eating and excretion habits. Regular communication with the veterinarian ensured that the correct treatments, including IV fluids and injections, were administered.
In a hopeful turn of events, after a month of rest and dedicated care, the cat’s health began to improve. Its digestive system showed marked progress, though it still resembled a fragile stick of skin and bones without any visible muscles.
Gaining weight and enhancing its digestive system became the main focus to prevent future health issues.

The brave little cat deserved recognition for its resilience. Encouragingly, tests revealed that its kidneys were functioning normally.
Compared to its initial state at the time of rescue, the improvement was significant. The dedication of the animal care team brought the cat, affectionately named Qiqi, back from the brink of death.
Their hard work has given hope for a future where the cat can enjoy good health.
