A breathtaking video captured an impressive herd of 45 elephants coming together, displaying unity as they fled from a perceived threat.
Jacques Joubert, 55, filmed this extraordinary scene, and Michelle Broadhurst, 49, the founder of Wings2Tusks, spent considerable time in Kruger National Park.
The couple captured the footage from a bridge while observing the elephants as they approached the river to quench their thirst.

In the vicinity, kudu and impala were also seen grazing peacefully. According to Michelle, a deep rumble, possibly a signal from one of the elephants, initiated their sudden dash without making any noise until they reached the riverbank.
Initially, the observers assumed that lions might be nearby, but the relaxed grazing of the kudu and impala suggested otherwise.
This was an unprecedented experience for the couple, leaving them puzzled about what had caused the elephants’ behavior. One possibility is that the river serves as a territorial boundary.
Michelle explained that the group of elephants was a bond group comprising three to five families. When multiple bond groups come together, they form a clan of elephants.
