“Look at this poor dog,” exclaimed a rescuer as they approached a trembling Doberman, once proud but now a victim of cruelty and abandonment.
The scene was heart-wrenching, with the dog’s ears showing signs of severe mistreatment. This distress call had brought the Harbin Li Liu Small Animals Rescue Camp to the outskirts of Harbin, where they quickly sprang into action.
The Doberman was found lying alone, vastly different from the robust image typically associated with its breed. “He seems to be unwell,” one rescuer speculated, while another concluded, “So that’s why he was abandoned.”
Their empathy drove them to uncover the dog’s tragic story. “Was he abandoned?” they wondered, piecing together the story as they traveled to the site.

Upon arrival, the rescuers found the dog weak and unsure, ignoring the food left nearby. “He won’t eat,” noted one observer sadly, revealing the depth of the dog’s trauma.
At the pet hospital, the true extent of his suffering was revealed. “His ears are decomposing,” one rescuer gasped in disbelief, while another exclaimed in horror upon discovering the poor dog’s ears had been cruelly nailed.

The Doberman, barely two months old, bravely battled, but it was too late; he succumbed to late-stage distemper. “We can’t save him,” announced the vet, leaving the rescue team devastated despite their determined efforts.
“Goodbye, little one,” whispered Mother Li, gently holding the dog. “In the Doggie Planet, there is no pain.” They wished he could have experienced kindness and safety far removed from the cruelty that ended his short life.

They hoped that one day, homes would accept animals regardless of their imperfections, mourning the loss of a life that deserved more love.
“Rest in peace, dear one,” they whispered, honoring the memory of a dog who endured so much hardship and deserved to be cherished.
