In the serenity of the rescue center, an emergency call broke the stillness, springing Dr. Song into immediate action.
Upon reaching the examination room, he encountered a golden retriever, visibly shaken and with a thick towel around its neck, drenched in blood.
“I don’t know what happened to his neck, and I’m afraid to put a harness on,” the nurse confessed, clearly disturbed. Dr. Song, acknowledging her concern, pondered the possible causes of the injury.
He spoke softly to himself, weighing the risks of the situation before taking further action.

The source of the injury remained uncertain as the wound was hidden beneath a crust of dried blood. “Please save him, doctor,” a volunteer implored, tears shining in their eyes.
The dog, having gone through a traumatic experience, retreated into a corner, wary of any human interaction.
“He’s very frightened of people,” another volunteer observed, skillfully working to soothe the distressed animal. “He can manage on his own,” Dr. Song assured the team, deftly removing the towel to inspect the wound more thoroughly.

“Dr. Song, we need to treat him as soon as possible,” the nurse appealed, directing his attention to the injury. “Where is the cut?” Dr. Song responded, carefully examining the area.
He calmly reassured everyone, “He’ll be able to go home in a few days,” as he commenced planning the dog’s treatment.

A volunteer comfortingly caressed the dog’s fur and whispered promises of a brighter future. “We’ll find you a new home,” they said softly, envisioning a better life for the retriever.
Meanwhile, whispers spread throughout the local community about the circumstances surrounding the dog’s abandonment, hinting at a previous life filled with neglect.
