In a surprising rescue mission, Slapdash Deliverance of St. Louis responded to a call about a dog found chained to a hedge.
The condition of the dog left rescuers astonished, as it appeared to have suffered severe injuries similar to those of a bait dog in a fight.
The dog’s injuries included deep bite marks across its body, face, and legs. Its face was so swollen that it couldn’t open its eyes.
Left untreated for weeks, these wounds became severely infected, resulting in sepsis. The poor animal had been abandoned, tied up, and left to suffer and potentially die.
Once rescued, the team rushed the dog, named Marco, to their facility. There, he was immediately put on an IV drip and given antibiotics to combat the infections. Around-the-clock care was provided with the help of dedicated staff.
Marco’s recovery journey proved to be a test of endurance, but he demonstrated remarkable resilience. Despite the long and challenging rehabilitation process, he managed to pull through, showcasing his tenacious spirit.
Now, Marco resides with a caring family and several other dogs, enjoying a life filled with love and companionship. His dark days of being used in dog fights are behind him. Although the physical scars remain, they do not define who he is today.
Marco’s days are now spent snuggled comfortably on the couch with his new family or playing energetically with his canine siblings in the neighborhood. His story is a testament to the power of resilience and love.
