In a heartwarming rescue story from California, a dog named Pebbles was found abandoned beside a small wooden shelter in a ditch along a rural roadside.
The discovery was made thanks to a concerned individual who reported the situation to the authorities, according to The Dodo.
An officer promptly responded, rescuing Pebbles and transporting her to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS). The shelter’s staff soon identified the small dog and sought out her previous owner.
It was revealed that the owner, who had become homeless over a year ago, had been forced to leave Pebbles behind.
Despite the difficult circumstances she had endured, Pebbles was given a second chance at life thanks to the compassionate actions of the responding officers and the care provided by the shelter staff.
Now safe and well-cared-for at SCCAS, Pebbles is ready to embark on a new chapter and is eagerly awaiting adoption into a loving family.
Pebbles has captured the hearts of all who meet her. Maria Chomentowski shared her admiration on Facebook, commenting, “In my view, Pebbles is the cutest small dog with the most beautiful deep eyes.”
Robin Gabriel, another admirer, added, “She is considerably prettier and more lovely in person.”
With a hopeful future ahead, Pebbles is looking for a forever home where she can bring joy and companionship to her new family.
