While driving, Fahrudin Caki Bravo noticed a dog lying by the side of the road in a pool of water, seemingly defeated and in pain. Concerned for the animal’s safety, Bravo felt compelled to return and help.
Bravo described how he approached the dog, saying, “I could see he was in pain. I asked him, ‘Can we make a deal? Don’t give up just yet!

I’m here to help you! Just don’t bite me from the pain, and I’ll do my best to aid you.'” With this silent understanding, Bravo took the dog, later named Maddox, to a veterinarian for further examination.
The veterinary team was particularly worried about potential internal injuries and planned X-rays to diagnose any damage. They also arranged for a specialist clinic to perform a critical spinal surgery that could potentially save Maddox’s life.
Dr. Fahrudin shared, “Maddox is about to face the toughest battle of his life. A surgeon is waiting to perform spinal surgery, offering him a slim chance to survive and recover.” Despite the grim odds, Bravo and the medical team remained hopeful.

Following an urgent operation, Maddox woke up and rested post-surgery. The first crucial test would take place in a couple of days to assess whether he could feel “deep pain.”
This test involved checking his reaction to being pinched with scissors, which would indicate a 50-50 chance of regaining some mobility through rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, the initial prognosis was not optimistic. Six days post-surgery, it was discovered that Maddox’s vertebra had been crushed, and his spinal cord, now a concerning blue rather than grey, had sustained significant damage.
Although he would likely need a wheelchair for life, the team remained hopeful, reminding themselves that miracles could still happen.

Sixteen days after the surgery, Maddox showed unexpected progress. Described as fantastic, sweet, and strong-willed, he managed to stand on his own, albeit briefly returning to his box after an hour.
While not a miracle yet, this progress hinted at the possibility of Maddox reclaiming some of his mobility.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the veterinary team and Fahrudin hold on to hope for Maddox, believing that with his fighting spirit, further recovery is possible.
