This unfortunate animal was frequently left outside, chained to its family’s home, enduring harsh conditions regardless of the weather.
Captured on video by a concerned neighbor, the dog could be seen cowering to shield itself from a brutal storm with hail. Despite the cold and harsh weather, the pet’s owners seemed indifferent to the dog’s suffering.
Outraged by the situation, the neighbor shared the video on Twitter, calling for intervention. The post, made by someone using the handle @JC_Real__, appealed to local authorities, particularly the Animal Care Agency and the mayor,
Gustavo A. Madero, to step in and help the poor dog, known as Leo.
Responding to the plea, Lety Varela from the Animal Surveillance Brigade of Mexico City shared on her Twitter account that her team had taken action. They successfully negotiated and rescued the dog from its dire circumstances.
She expressed gratitude toward her colleagues for their dedication and care, ensuring that Leo received the necessary medical treatment. “Enough with the animal brutality,” Varela declared, emphasizing a collective effort to change these narratives.
The positive outcome of Leo’s rescue was shared by Varela with great pride. She highlighted how the teamwork and dedication of the brigade resulted in Leo becoming a calmer, happier animal.
She thanked her colleagues for their relentless effort to transform the dog’s life, offering him a promising future.
