Three years ago, Giorgi Berejiani faced a heart-wrenching situation when his beloved dog, Jorge, went missing from their home in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Despite an extensive search, the dog remained lost, but Giorgi never gave up hope. As time passed, his longing to reunite with his furry friend only grew stronger.
The story took a hopeful turn when employees at a local business spotted a stray dog resembling Jorge. Even though the city had tagged the dog to indicate he was living on the streets, the workers had a hunch it could be Giorgi’s missing pet.
They quickly reached out to Giorgi, who wasted no time in heading to the scene.
In a heartwarming reunion captured on video, Giorgi approaches the dog lying by a tree. Upon recognizing Giorgi’s voice, the dog begins to cry tears of joy, and Giorgi instantly knows it’s Jorge.
Their emotional reunion, three years in the making, was a testament to the bond they shared. Both human and dog were visibly overjoyed to be together once more.
Expressing his joy to The Dodo, Giorgi exclaimed, “I’m so happy.” He added, “I have never seen him happier.” Their heartfelt reunion marked the end of years of heartache, bringing comfort and joy to both.
Though it’s unclear how Jorge managed to survive alone on the streets for so long, the hope of finding Giorgi again might have been what kept him going.
