I encountered Amora, a stray dog, in a deeply distressing state after a cruel attack. Despite her gentle nature, those who attacked her showed no mercy, responding to her friendly wagging tail with gunfire.
Amora never anticipated such a brutal outcome. Her injuries were severe, with a long cut across her neck, and her jaw fractured into numerous pieces. Bullet fragments were embedded in her muzzle and skin.
Disturbingly, when she was found, a hazardous bone was lodged in her stomach, yet no immediate help was available.

Amora was soon discovered standing helplessly in a puddle, clearly in need of urgent medical attention. Her first surgery, which lasted over three hours, addressed many of her wounds.
On the third day, Amora endured a second surgery to repair her broken bones, which included jaw reinforcement and an esophagectomy. Although heavily medicated, her suffering was still acute.
To boost her recovery, the doctor recommended regular exercise to enhance blood circulation. However, Amora faced the dual challenges of pain and severe oral infection.

To manage this, she required consistent intravenous pain relief. We tried to lighten her spirits with jokes and encouragement, though she often seemed disheartened.
After a month of care, Amora’s condition improved significantly. The building where she was treated had been dismantled, but her jaw remained stable, allowing easier movement.
The doctor optimistically estimated she would be able to eat normally within another month.

Two months later, Amora was able to feed herself. Her esophageal tumor was successfully treated, and she was released from care soon afterwards with no remaining complications.
The dedication of her medical team was commendable, and everyone at the veterinary clinic marveled at her recovery.
Close to death at one point, Amora’s resilience shone through. Her trust in humanity remains intact, and since her ordeal, she has found much joy and love in her life.
