In a curious quest for food, an elephant unexpectedly visited a house in Thadagam, Coimbatore, on a Sunday morning.

Despite the villagers’ attempts to scare it away, the majestic creature couldn’t resist the temptation and indulged in the rice and fertilizers stored in bags at the house.

The villagers made multiple efforts to coax the tusker to leave, and eventually, the elephant departed from the spot. However, this incident is not an isolated one.

Over the past year, there have been several instances of wild elephants wandering into residential areas of Coimbatore, driven by the beginning of migration and harvesting seasons.

This region has witnessed a significant movement of wild elephants near human settlements, possibly due to the changing seasons, impacting their natural habitat and food availability.

Reflecting on a similar occurrence from last year around the same time, another elephant was captured on camera entering a house searching for food.

Fortunately, it left without causing any harm, but the footage showcased the increasing interaction between wildlife and human spaces.

As we coexist with these magnificent creatures, finding ways to protect their habitats and ensure peaceful cohabitation becomes essential.
