Late one night, I stumbled upon a scene that left a lasting impression: a dog, injured and distressed, lay motionless in a gutter. His frightened eyes told the story of an accident; he had been struck by a car and couldn’t move.
Acting quickly, we transported him to a nearby veterinary clinic called “In Safe Hands” on Novy Cheryomushki Street. There, he received a warm welcome from the compassionate staff who were ready to help.

Despite his injuries, the dog’s strong spirit was evident through his hearty appetite. He devoured his food with eagerness, signaling his determination to fight on.
After a thorough examination, the vet uncovered serious challenges. The dog, whom we named Eric, had sustained a fracture and significant spinal damage that left him unable to walk.

With Eric weighing in at 50 kilograms, his recovery process would be complex. At the clinic, we also encountered an elderly gentleman battling kidney issues and various tumors, both sharing their silent suffering with great dignity.
Our team devoted itself to their care, treating them with empathy and caution. Eric found solace in his new surroundings, relishing the comfort of sunny mornings, a gentle reminder of happier times.

Eric’s recovery journey was arduous, demanding numerous injections and constant attention. Though progress was slow, a promising sign emerged: his hind legs began to regain function, sparking hope amidst the challenges.
While Eric’s future remains uncertain, witnessing his gradual recovery is encouraging. Our continuous care is aimed at giving him a chance to heal and look forward to a life without pain.
