Moose, a sweet Pit Bull with a challenging past, had only one wish: to be loved. Despite her difficult beginnings, including being shot and living with a bullet in her lung, all Moose wanted was to find a home where she could be accepted.
When no one else would give her a chance due to a minor incident where she barked at another dog, Moose was slated for euthanasia. That’s when Micky read about her plight and decided to act.

Micky found Moose just in time to rescue her from being put down due to “behavioral issues.” Determined to give Moose the opportunity she deserved, Micky swiftly applied to adopt her.
Moose’s journey took her from Texas to Virginia, where she was finally united with her new owner, Micky. According to Micky, the only note on Moose’s behavior record was a single incident of barking, an issue far outweighed by Moose’s potential for kindness.

Despite enduring a series of tough breaks, including heartworms and even undergoing an abortion, Moose’s spirit remained unbroken. All she needed was the right environment to flourish, and Micky eagerly provided that.
Micky was amazed by Moose’s calm and friendly demeanor. Contrary to her initial expectations, Moose was already house-trained and quick to learn new things, indicating she had some training before.

“I’m astonished that after such a tough start, Moose just wants to be everyone’s best friend,” Micky shared.
Due to Moose’s gentle and loving nature, Micky was inspired to start training her as a therapy dog. This was especially fitting as Micky, who has mobility challenges, found Moose to be naturally empathetic.

“Despite everything she’s gone through, she’s been wonderful and is learning new things every day,” Micky said.
Moose intuitively responded to Micky’s needs, offering comfort and companionship on difficult days. She is currently working towards her OFA certifications, paving the way for a promising future as a therapy dog.

“When I’m not feeling well, Moose somehow senses it and adjusts her proximity to me,” Micky explained, highlighting their strong connection.
A year and a half into her new life with Micky, Moose has transformed from an overlooked shelter dog into a beloved family member with a purpose. Moose and Micky are inseparable, sharing daily adventures and cherishing their bond.

Moose has not only gained a loving home, but also a meaningful role, and she and Micky continue to enjoy each day together to the fullest.
