Victor Larkhill and his team were alerted to the heartbreaking case of a large dog found at a landfill, severely weakened from hunger and dehydration. Trapped in the dump, the dog’s condition was rapidly deteriorating.
Her teeth were falling out, and her body was covered in bruises and cuts, a clear sign she had been suffering for some time. Realizing the urgency of the situation, the rescuers took immediate action to change her fate.
They named her Maya and quickly provided her with food and water before rushing her to the vet. There, Maya was diagnosed with two serious diseases—anaplasmosis and ehrlichiosis—both caused by parasites.
With treatment, Maya slowly began to regain her strength. Her recovery was so remarkable that she was eventually adopted into a loving home, giving her a second chance at life.
