During the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Canada, an unexpected participant joined the race after being let out for a bathroom break.

Ludivine, an adorable Bloodhound, seized the opportunity for an adventure, escaping through a garden gate and making her way to the race’s start line.

Despite several detours, including a stop to investigate a dead rabbit, Ludivine impressed everyone by finishing seventh place.

Photos shared on the official Facebook page of the Elkmont’s Hound Half Marathon captured the charming moments of Ludivine’s unexpected race.

Her owner, April Hamlin, expressed surprise at her pet’s feat, emphasizing that Ludivine is usually lazy.

However, Hamlin couldn’t help but be proud of Ludivine’s independent spirit and determination.

Despite initial concerns that Ludivine might disrupt the race, fellow runners were amused and impressed by her unexpected participation.

Jim Clemens, who finished fourth in the half marathon, shared how Ludivine would intermittently join him and even sprint ahead to the leaders, showcasing her playful and adventurous nature.
