Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she and Brad Pitt will reunite on the big screen in an upcoming film—the couple, who last starred together in 2005’s ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ will be co-starring in a new project, though it’s not what you might expect.

During an interview with Extra on Tuesday, Jolie, 38, shared some details about the film. “It’s not a big movie, not an action movie,” she explained. “It’s the kind of movie we love but aren’t often cast in.”

According to Jolie, the new project is experimental and independent, allowing the couple to explore their craft differently. “We get to be actors together, be raw, open, try things,” she continued.

Jolie and Pitt’s relationship blossomed while filming ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ and they have been together ever since. They got engaged in April 2012, and Jolie considers Pitt much more than just a partner. “He’s not just my lover and partner,” she said. “He’s my family now.”

Despite their high-profile status, Jolie emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong relationship. “We have history and work hard to make it great,” she noted.

“We don’t relax about it and take each other for granted. So, like everybody, we have challenges, but we’re fighting to make it great.”
