Angelina Jolie and her 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, made a striking appearance at the opening night of “Reefer Madness: The Musical” revival in Los Angeles, supporting their friend Kristen Bell.
The event at The Whitley on Hollywood Blvd showcased Jolie’s enduring elegance and her daughter’s growing confidence.
Jolie, 48, and Vivienne were photographed with Bell on the red carpet. The sighting comes amidst reports that Vivienne has dropped “Pitt” from her last name, reflecting ongoing tensions in the Jolie-Pitt divorce saga.
Their 18-year-old daughter Shiloh is also seeking a legal name change to “Shiloh Jolie,” despite Brad Pitt’s efforts to mend their strained relationship.
Jolie wore a chic black blazer and skinny trousers for the event, paired with a printed white T-shirt and sunglasses. Vivienne opted for a casual look with Converse sneakers, a button-up shirt, a black vest, and baggy pants.
Kristen Bell dazzled in a plunging navy gown as she co-produced the 25th-anniversary revival of “Reefer Madness,” a satirical take on the infamous 1936 anti-marijuana campaign.
The revival also featured performances by original stars Christian Campbell and Alan Cumming, with an eight-week run and post-show festivities at the adjacent Reefer Den speakeasy.
Notable attendees included Monica Padman, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Neve Campbell, Lake Bell, Seth Green, and Clare Grant, who all graced the red carpet to support Bell.
Angelina and Vivienne have recently ventured into the Broadway scene, working on “The Outsiders” musical, nominated for 12 Tony Awards. Vivienne, credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill, assisted her mother in producing the show, based on the classic 1983 film.
The Jolie-Pitt family dynamics remain complex. Angelina and Brad share six children: Vivienne and her twin brother Knox, Shiloh, and three adopted children—Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, and Maddox, 22. Reports indicate that Zahara and Maddox also do not use the Pitt surname, although they haven’t legally changed their names.
Brad and Angelina’s relationship, which began in 2005 and led to their 2014 marriage, ended in a tumultuous divorce in 2016. Their custody battle has been contentious, with allegations of Jolie trying to distance their children from Pitt.
Earlier court filings included claims from former bodyguard Tony Webb, suggesting Jolie influenced the children’s attitudes towards their father.
Despite the tension, Brad remains hopeful about his relationship with his children. An insider revealed that he no longer contests Jolie’s primary custody, focusing on maintaining a meaningful connection with them.
In the meantime, Pitt has moved on romantically with Ines de Ramon. The couple, linked since November 2022, reportedly now live together, marking Pitt’s first serious relationship since his divorce from Jolie.
