Angelina Jolie, renowned for her elegance and diplomatic attire, made a striking appearance at the New York premiere of her latest film, “First They Killed My Father,” unveiling her extensive tattoo collection.
The 42-year-old actress, accompanied by her six children, donned a backless gown that offered a glimpse into her world of body art, estimated to consist of around 20 designs.

Among her notable tattoos are a Tennessee Williams quote, a Buddhist prayer, and geographical coordinates marking her children’s birthplaces.
Last year, she added three significant pieces: ancient Buddhist mantras cascading down her right shoulder blade, a temple at the center of her back, and a Yantra grid design believed to attract good fortune.

One particularly poignant tattoo on her left shoulder blade is a script dedicated to her eldest son, Maddox, whom she adopted from Cambodia in 2003.
Interestingly, just before her split from Brad Pitt, a former Thai monk inked symbolic designs on both Jolie and Pitt in Cambodia, ceremoniously using the same ink to bind them as husband and wife.
Jolie’s tattoo collection reflects her life’s journey and experiences. From a gothic lettering on her neck inspired by The Clash’s song “Know Your Rights” to the erasure of a tattoo commemorating her brief marriage to Billy Bob Thornton, replaced by coordinates symbolizing her children’s and Pitt’s birthplaces, each piece holds a unique story.

As she once remarked about her evolving ink, “I’ve moved on — that’s why it’s going.” Jolie’s tattoos adorn her skin and symbolize her personal growth and transformation throughout the years.
