Photos from Sunday night’s Golden Globes reveal a seemingly tense moment where Angelina Jolie avoids looking at Jennifer Aniston while she was on stage presenting an award.
A particular image taken from behind Aniston and Carol Burnett shows Jolie, who began dating Brad Pitt soon after his split from Aniston, looking down at her table rather than at the stage.
Adding to the scene, Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson can be seen glancing over at Jolie, apparently observing her reaction to Aniston’s presence.
The event’s seating arrangements prevented direct encounters between the actresses as they were placed on opposite sides of the ballroom.
Aniston reportedly skipped the red carpet to avoid crossing paths with Jolie, though both attended the same Netflix afterparty, raising the possibility of an awkward meeting.
The last time the two were in the same room was at the Critics’ Choice Awards in 2015, ten years after Pitt allegedly left Aniston for Jolie.

However, video footage suggests Jolie’s perceived snub might have been a coincidental moment captured in the photo rather than a deliberate act. Both actresses share a history with Brad Pitt, with Aniston married to him from 2000 to 2005 and Jolie from 2014 until their split last year.
There have been claims that Jolie “stole” Pitt from Aniston during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005. However, other reports indicate Pitt and Aniston were already experiencing marital issues when he met Jolie. In a 2007 Vogue interview, Jolie stated that she and Pitt were friends first and only started dating after his divorce from Aniston.
