A baby elephant captivated tourists at Kruger National Park, South Africa when it was put on a playful display in the middle of the road.
In footage filmed in June 2019, the young elephant can be seen wagging its tail and swinging its trunk excitedly.
The energetic calf appears to be dancing as it stamps its feet and kicks its legs while flapping its ears and wiggling its body. The spectators, clearly amused, quietly laugh so as not to disturb the performance.
After holding its playful pose momentarily, the baby elephant trots towards its mother, adding a little bounce to its steps and even theatrically crossing its front legs. Once reunited with its mother, the calf stays close to her side as she steps onto the road.
Despite moving toward the grass, the baby continues its lively antics, lowering its front legs so its trunk touches the ground and moving back and forth before joining the roadside. Soon, two other elephants join the scene, adding to the memorable encounter.
The person who filmed the delightful moment described it as an “incredible and comical sighting” while leading a safari in the famous park. The heartwarming video has resurfaced online, reminding viewers of the playful side of wildlife.
