Itās been nearly two decades since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie first got together, and eight years since their split, yet their legal battles continue, particularly over their French winery, ChĆ¢teau Miraval.
Brad and Angelina, legally declared single in 2019, have had ongoing disputes regarding child custody and property division. The ChĆ¢teau Miraval vineyard, purchased in 2008 and the site of their 2014 wedding, remains a significant point of contention.
The dispute intensified in 2021 when Angelina sold her 50% stake in the winery’s holding company, Nouvel, to Stoli for $67 million. Brad subsequently sued Angelina, alleging that she aimed to harm him by making the sale without his consent.
Recently, a judge dismissed most of Brad Pittās claims against Angelina Jolie. According to Jolieās attorney, Paul Murphy, āThe judge dismissed most of Mr. Pittās claims because they donāt have a legal basis.ā
He further stated that the lawsuit was less about business and more about Bradās alleged attempts to obscure serious abuse claims. Murphy added, āAngelina truly harbors no ill-will toward Mr. Pitt and hopes he will release her from his frivolous lawsuit.ā
Despite the dismissal, Brad’s lawsuit is not entirely over. The court has allowed him time to revise the dismissed claims to make them legally valid, and two claims still stand. One claim asserts an implied agreement that Angelina would not sell her share of the winery without Bradās approval.
The Miraval dispute is just one aspect of their broader legal battles, which also include child custody issues and abuse allegations.
Angelina had previously sued the FBI over their handling of abuse claims against Brad, stemming from an incident on a private plane just before their divorce filing.
Before their split, Brad and Angelina shared six children: Maddox (21), Pax (19), Zahara (18), Shiloh (17), and twins Vivienne and Knox (15).
