Brave Pet Cat Chases Off Four-Ton Elephant Looking for Food in Thailand

In a surprising turn of events, a pet cat named Simba confronted a four-ton elephant that wandered into its garden in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand, searching for food.

Unfazed by the enormous intruder, the three-year-old cat successfully chased the elephant away.

The elephant, identified as a 35-year-old named Pai Salick, is known locally for causing trouble by trampling through gardens at night.

Despite its size and potential danger, Simba’s bold move made the massive animal retreat, leaving the garden with splintered trees scattered across the lawn.

A local park ranger, Amnat Norasin, explained that Pai Salick typically roams from the forest into residential areas looking for food, and residents are familiar with his visits.

Elephants are a protected species in Thailand, with strict laws prohibiting their harm. Killing one can lead to up to three years in prison and a fine of 1,000 baht (£25).

The Indian elephant, a subspecies of the Asian elephant, is native to Thailand and was declared endangered in 1986. These majestic animals have held cultural significance in the country for centuries.
