A delightful baby elephant, appearing to sit up while attempting to stay upright, has captured viewers’ hearts.
Michelle Broadhurst encountered the endearing scene during her safari trip in Kruger National Park, South Africa, on August 28. The naughty young elephant was spotted rolling playfully in the mud.

Lying on its side, the calf tried to build momentum by moving its body up and down. After several attempts, the baby elephant managed to propel itself forward, dunked its face into the mud and finally regained its footing.
Michelle explained, “It looked like the elephant was trying to sit up. Elephants kick their legs forward and backward to gain momentum from lying. They are so adorable.”
