Adorable photos of “Smiling baby elephant rolling on the ground with older pal

These heartwarming photos show a ‘smiling’ baby elephant persuading an older friend to play as the pair then lark around the grass.

The cute photos show the ferocious calf Stompie, which is Afrikaans for Stumpy, affectionately pressing his trunk against his teenage companion with a plea to gently play.

Unable to resist the calf’s allure, the older elephant spent half an hour playing with him, finally having to face the ground when a delighted Stompie climbed onto his head at Addo Elephant National Park in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
