As if we needed any more reason to love elephants… The footage shows a baby elephant distracting his human friend from his work so he can play is one of the cutest videos we’ve seen.
We all know that elephants are emotionally intelligent and baby elephants are notoriously naughty. While elephants are loyal to their herd, this baby elephant has found a new human friend it wants to play with.
Dan Daeng was doing DIY jobs around Mae-Sa Elephant Camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand when he was distracted by an adorable baby elephant. He was applying protective paint to the bamboo poles to prepare for the upcoming winter when 1-year-old Khunsuk arrived.
Khunsuk baby elephant walked up behind Dan and started using his trunk. The playful baby elephant continuously stretched his arms through the enclosure, coaxing his friend to play with him.
It’s impossible not to smile when looking at the adorable baby elephant interacting with Dan. It’s as if he’s saying, “Stop working and play with me, human!”
The elephants are at risk of becoming endangered due to Ivory poaching. Mae-Sa Elephant Camp dedicates its knowledge and expertise to increasing the elephant population. They have an elephant nursery where the baby elephants can safely live with their mother. The world would be a very sad place without elephants in it.
I don’t know about you, but if this baby elephant asks me to play, I’ll drop everything for a play session. This is one of the most touching videos I’ve seen in a long time. Elephants are the best!
