Elephant herd travel 12 hours to mo.urn human who rescued them

Wild animals never cease to amaze and what these majestic creatures have done defies human explanation! Elephants are known to be brilliant creatures, and the way these wild creatures interact not only with other animals but also with humans is beyond all imagination.

In March 2012, Lawrence Anthony – a renowned conservationist and author known as “The Elephant Whisperer,” passed away. His family spoke of a solemn elephant procession that was difficult to explain.

Two herds of South Africa’s wild elephants have come to KwaZulu-Natal to visit the home of Lawrence Anthony on a trip that lasted nearly 12 hours. What really amazing is that all those elephants were not alerted to Lawrence’s house in any way.

Lawrence Anthony, a follower of the Earth Foundation, has rescued and rehabilitated countless helpless elephants and other a.ban.doned wildlife.

Dylan Anthony is currently leading the reserve, continuing his late father’s legacy. It was Lawrence’s son who recalled the amazing gesture the two elephant herds had made in his father’s memory.

“They hadn’t visited the house in one and a half years, and it took them about 12 hours to make the journey,” says Dylan.

“The first herd arrived on Sunday and the second one, a day later. They all hung around for about two days before returning to the bush.”

Although the reason behind the elephants’ trip is easy to understand, no one can find an explanation as to how they actually found out how the “whisperer” had gone! “A good person suddenly di.ed,” said Dr. Rabbi Leila Gal Berner.

“…From miles away, two herds of elephants, feeling that they had lost a beloved human friend, moved in a solemn, almost ‘fu.neral’ procession to call the bereaved family at their Lawrence’s home.

“If ever there was ever a time when we could truly feel the magical connection of all living things, it was when we me.ditated on Thula Thula’s elephants,” Rabbi Leila explained. .

“The heart of one human has stopped beating, and the hearts of hundreds of elephants are gri.eving. This man’s boundless loving heart blessed these elephants with healing, and now they come to pay their loving homage to their friend. ”
