This is the adorable moment of the baby elephants lazily knelt down on a muddy hill in northern Thailand.
A herd of elephants was walking at the Elephant Freedom Village in Chiang Mai province when they came to a steep muddy slope.
Some fun-loving elephants decided it would be quicker to slide down the hill instead of walking with other animals, the adorable footage shows.
In the video, lazy elephants use their front legs to gain speed and let their hind legs fall to the floor, lying on their stomach happily sliding down a muddy hill.
Their elephant herder, or elephant keeper, Non captured the amusing footage of the naughty animals tumbling down the hill on September 15.
Non said: ‘This is the cutest roller coaster I’ve ever seen. My kids looked happy, and I’m glad they’re enjoying the outdoors. ‘
The nonprofit Elephant Freedom Village said its elephants spend 90% of their time in the forest, with the rest of the time in sheltered paddocks at night.
In the paddocks, the elephants are ‘given piles of fresh food to graze on; enough to sustain them until morning.
The organization rescues elephants with the aim of eradicating ‘man-made damage’ and over time’ returning them to the forest where they belong.’
Thailand has at least 2,000 elephants living in the wild and a similar number in captivity.
They live in sanctuaries, elephant parks, zoos, resorts, or private owners who use them for weddings and religious ceremonies.
