Eva’s journey to recovery has been filled with both challenges and triumphs. Initially, she seemed to be doing well, showing good health and enjoying her meals.
Our day started with optimism as we took her to a specialist for a routine check-up. The blood tests were promising, confirming that she was free from both erlichia and heartworm.
However, the visit brought unexpected news that overshadowed her initial good health report. The day before, Eva underwent X-rays that revealed two damaged vertebrae, which explained the paralysis in her legs and the severe pain she had been experiencing.

To help alleviate her discomfort and lift her spirits, Eva was given a significant amount of pain medication daily. Fortunately, this treatment, alongside her resilience, showed positive results in her recovery journey.
Finally, Eva’s perseverance paid off. She found a loving home and a family that cherishes her. Her story took a remarkable turn as she gained Canadian citizenship, earning both respect and the freedom she deserved.
