Some animals start life facing significant challenges, but some, like Flipflop, refuse to let those difficulties define them.
Flipflop’s journey began with a tough start. As a newborn, he was abandoned by his mother due to a deformity in his front leg, forcing him to fight for survival almost immediately after birth.

Fortunately, his story took a turn for the better when he was rescued by the team at Bosley’s Place in Georgia. They provided the care and affection that Flipflop needed so much. Despite his diminutive size, he had a robust will to survive. He took to bottle-feeding eagerly, gaining strength and health with every passing day.
According to a Facebook post from Bosley’s Place, “Aside from the noticeable deformity of his front left leg, he appears to be very healthy with a great appetite.”

Under his rescuers’ care, Flipflop flourished, transforming from a discarded pup into a lively and cheerful little pup. With his endearing demeanor, Flipflop quickly won over everyone at the rescue center.
Though Flipflop was thriving and enjoying life with his fellow pups, his rescuers were concerned about his deformed leg. They wondered if amputation might be necessary to prevent any future issues. After consulting a veterinarian, the decision was made—surgery was not needed!

Bosley’s Place cheerfully announced on Facebook, “He’s getting around just fine, it doesn’t bother him whatsoever, and because he’s not a 60+ pound dog, he’s not dragging it and it is not at risk of infection so… He gets to keep the leg.”
With this good news, Flipflop continued to thrive, living life to the fullest. Eventually, he was ready for adoption, and the perfect family came forward—Nikki and her family, who had a passion for dogs, welcomed him into their home.

Bosley’s Place enthused, “He has an amazing family, truly incredible… Not only did they adopt Flipflop, now named Butters, but they also adopted TWO of our other special-needs puppies, Griff and Henry, now Hank.”
Today, Butters enjoys a life filled with love and companionship, alongside his new dog siblings in a family that cherishes him.
