Some organizations, like Sidewalk Specials, dedicate their efforts to save even the most challenging cases.
They rescue dogs from abusive situations and from shelters where euthanasia is imminent, caring for them until they can be matched with suitable families.
One such rescue story is that of Willow. Had it not been for Sidewalk Specials’ intervention, Willow might have faced euthanasia or the harsh realities of street life.
After being involved in a hit-and-run accident, her previous owners learned that her road to recovery required the amputation of a limb. Unwilling to take on this responsibility, they abandoned her at the veterinary clinic.
Willow’s story took a positive turn, however, as she was soon adopted by a loving family. Today, she enjoys her new life with a family that includes a canine sibling.
