Bella’s life began on a somber note, confined to a small space on a balcony in a disadvantaged neighborhood of Cairo, Egypt. Deprived of freedom, she spent her days tethered to an iron bar, with walks and proper meals only a distant dream.
Faced with prolonged neglect and limited care, Bella courageously attempted to escape her grim situation. In a daring move, she jumped from the balcony, leaving her perilously suspended with a chain cutting into her neck.
Rescue took an agonizingly long time to arrive. By the time help reached her, she was almost unconscious, her body weak and trembling.
Despite her condition, Bella showed a heartwarming sign of affection by dragging herself towards her rescuers, offering gentle licks to their hands. Moved by her spirit, the rescuers knew they had to help her.
Following her rescue, Bella was entrusted to the Egyptian Animal Relief Society. Here, she received much-needed medical attention and care, slowly recovering from her ordeal.
Her story touched hearts even across the globe, leading a compassionate woman from Massachusetts to offer her a new home.
Now, Bella thrives in Houston, surrounded by a large, loving family and a fellow canine companion. She has found comfort in her new life, often lounging on the sofa while watching TV.
Thanks to the love and dedication of her adoptive family, Bella has made a full recovery.
