When a woman purchased a new home, she stumbled upon an unexpected discovery. Two dogs, who had been left behind for about a month in the abandoned property, were in desperate need of help.
The dogs, named Blackie and Reiki, had faced severe neglect and isolation during their time alone.
Of the two, Reiki appeared more aware and was visibly surprised to see a human again, even though the woman was a stranger to her. Blackie, however, was in much worse condition.

Although Reiki was in slightly better health, she was still hungry and confused, needing proper care to recover.
After their initial vet visits, the woman took both Blackie and Reiki home. Their paths to recovery were quite distinct. Blackie, having endured weeks of starvation, couldn’t stop eating and displayed a voracious appetite.
Reiki, however, adapted more quickly to her new environment, eating consistently and gradually feeling more at ease.
In the first week, Blackie’s frailty demanded constant attention, but his indomitable spirit was evident. Each day, his strength grew. By contrast, Reiki swiftly transformed into a lively and playful dog, her trust in her new surroundings blossoming rapidly.
One month on, the change in both dogs was extraordinary. Blackie’s once gaunt body had transformed into a healthy and muscular form, with a shiny and full coat.
His energy level surged, and the light had returned to his eyes, now brimming with hope and happiness. Reiki, too, had become a loving and joyful companion, flourishing in her newfound life.
