Reese, a young puppy, was found on the streets in a dire condition. She was so frail that every bone in her tiny body was visible. It was a mystery how she managed to survive, raising questions about how someone could let this happen to her.
Upon her discovery, Animal Control was promptly notified, and a local rescue organization, Jersey Pits, was contacted to help save her life. They shared a heart-wrenching photo of Reese asleep in the backseat of a car, which brought many to tears.
Despite her weakness, Reese showed appreciation by showering her new human friends with kisses whenever possible. Her loving nature was evident, making her situation all the more tragic. However, it also fueled everyone’s determination to help her recover.
The medical team at the rescue center quickly began the necessary treatments to aid Reese’s recovery. Known for her affectionate nature, she also developed a diva-like side, craving much attention. After a week in the hospital, she managed to stand briefly on her own—quite a small victory but significant nonetheless.
A few weeks later, Reese achieved another milestone by taking her first independent steps. She responded well to commands, eagerly wagging her tail. After a month of care and love in the hospital, she was ready to transition to a medical foster home.
Ryn, Reese’s foster mom, described her as initially nervous during the car ride but noticed a significant change once they arrived home. Reese quickly adapted and began playing with toys, clearly thrilled to be in a loving and caring environment.
Soon, Reese began to act like a “real dog.” She loved jumping on the couch and demanded attention, and once she was strong enough, she enjoyed the adventures outside during walks, exploring the world around her.
In a touching confession, Ryn shared in a video that she had to adjust Reese’s collar every day due to her healthy weight gain, marking her journey toward recovery. Reese continues to thrive and will soon be looking for a forever home.
