As the dominant male of his group, Bobo, now a large silverback, displayed his tenderness when he was found cradling a tiny wild bush baby he had encountered in the forest.
Ape Action Africa shared the heartwarming story on Facebook, explaining how caregivers found Bobo handling the little primate with great care.
Elissa O’Sullivan, a spokesperson for the organization, mentioned that the bush baby seemed unafraid of Bobo and even explored the nearby grassy area before returning to him.
Bobo’s gorilla friends, particularly his favorite female Avishag, showed immense curiosity toward the tiny visitor. However, Bobo ensured they maintained their distance, protecting his new companion.
Witnessing such an interaction between these species is rare, as bush babies are usually nocturnal.
The bush baby happily played in Bobo’s arms and explored the surrounding area before returning to him.
