A heartwarming video captures the moment a man comes to the aid of a baby elephant that had lost its way and ended up in his backyard.
Dawie Maree, the manager at The Wildlife Camp in Zambia, carefully guided the young calf from his porch back to its mother, who was waiting nearby in a river.
The footage, recorded last month, shows Dawie clearing chairs blocking the baby elephant’s path, allowing it to exit his backyard safely.

As the video concludes, the mother elephant can be seen rushing toward her lost calf in an emotional reunion.
Dawie recounted the event, explaining that the calf had become stuck between a table and a wall on his veranda.
He patiently waited for the mother elephant to move to the river before stepping in to help. With a keen eye on the mother, Dawie could free the calf and witness its joyful return to its family.
