Amidst the golden sunrise, Khanyisa was greeted with gentle trunk sniffs, exploring every inch of her presence, including her cozy blanket.

The day’s adventure began as the herd embarked on their first trek together. Khanyisa quickly became acquainted with many members of the tribe, forging a special bond with Timisa.

Throughout the day, Khanyisa was nurtured and cared for by her allomothers, including Bubi, Limpopo, Tokwe, and Kumbura. She was given a tour of the orphanage grounds, with particular attention paid to the best grazing spots.

The HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) TRUST was established after a remarkable 24-year journey dedicated to caring for elephants affected by human-elephant conflict or orphaned.

This nonprofit organization is committed to providing a safe haven for these majestic creatures.

The enchanting video captures the Jabulani herd of 16 elephants. 11 are orphans, while the other five were born within the herd.

To sustain their tireless efforts in caring for the expanding herd, the HERD TRUST has built the Jabulani Lodge nearby. The proceeds generated from the lodge are crucial in maintaining the orphanage’s operations.

The organization has harnessed the power of videos to share its inspiring message with the world.

These unedited and authentic recordings of the elephants’ movements have garnered tens of thousands of views, allowing the HERD TRUST to raise awareness and touch countless hearts.
