Valia Orfanidou’s evening strolls along the picturesque beaches, about 100 kilometers from Athens, took an unexpected turn when a stray dog approached her, wagging her tail.
This encounter began a heartwarming journey that would change both Valia’s and the dog’s lives forever.
The dog, later named Blue by Valia, desperately sought companionship and a sense of belonging.
Despite being just around seven months old and uncoordinated, Blue exuded a friendly demeanor that touched Valia’s heart.
She sensed Blue’s longing for a family and human connection, evident in the dog’s constant chasing after people and cars along the beach.
Valia, a seasoned rescuer known as “The Vagrant Pet,” recognized Blue’s need for help. Determined to make a difference, Valia embarked on a mission to rescue Blue from her solitary beach existence. Little did Valia know that this decision would lead to an unexpected turn of events.
After two sleepless nights pondering a plan, Valia devised a strategy to save Blue. What started as a simple act of kindness blossomed into something extraordinary.
With her tender soul and friendly nature, Blue found herself on a path to becoming a therapy dog in Holland, bringing joy and comfort to those in need.
Reflecting on her bond with Blue, Valia mused, “Perhaps she wasn’t asking for aid; perhaps she was providing it to those who had no idea what a fortune they continued avoiding constantly.”
