On an unexpected night, we received an urgent call about a troubling situation. Eighteen dogs had been abandoned in an old, dilapidated house on the city’s outskirts.
Among these dogs was a mother named Serena and her newborn puppies, struggling to survive amid deteriorating conditions and impending bad weather.
The mother, despite her exhaustion and anxiety, was doing everything she could to protect her puppies. She worked tirelessly to move them out of harm’s way.

However, her health soon began to decline, and without proper care, her puppies started to weaken as well. Tragically, six of them did not make it, and Serena herself became critically ill, barely able to stand.
We acted fast, transporting Serena and her surviving puppies to the nearest animal hospital. There, Serena was diagnosed with dehydration, anemia, and tested positive for Ehrlichia, a serious condition requiring immediate and intensive treatment over several days.
Even while suffering from her illnesses, Serena’s attention remained on her puppies. Her focus and resilience underscored the depth of a mother’s love and sacrifice.

Watching her struggle for survival alongside her remaining eleven puppies invoked a rollercoaster of emotions within us — from sadness and fear to a flicker of hope.
Our team was determined to provide them with the critical care they desperately needed.
The road to recovery was challenging, involving sleepless nights and continuous care. But witnessing Serena and her puppies grow stronger each day made every moment worthwhile.

We remained steadfast, providing extra care and encouragement, fully aware that the journey ahead was long and demanding.
Over time, Serena and her puppies blossomed, gaining health and happiness. Their persistence and spirit fueled our own resolve, inspiring us to continue our mission of rescuing and caring for animals in distress.
Despite the obstacles we encountered, our experience with Serena and her puppies reinforced our dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.
