Discovered in Dol Dol, on the fringes of the Laikipia Plateau, Doldol faced a harsh environment as a newborn calf. Fortunately, a compassionate community member provided shelter, and she was soon taken to the Kaluku Neonate Nursery for specialized care.

Under the devoted watch of Mishak, an experienced caregiver with over three decades of expertise, Doldol thrived.
Despite her small size, she formed a strong bond with Mishak, who adjusted his sleeping arrangements to accommodate her needs.
As Doldol grew, so did her family at the sanctuary. Welcoming new caretakers and orphaned siblings, Doldol embraced her role as a leader with grace and warmth.
