Kitten Rescued from Vent Thanks Her Heroes in the Sweetest Way

At a university campus, students began hearing faint cries from a ventilation shaft. The meows continued for days, and it became clear a kitten was trapped inside.

Concerned, the students contacted Animals Lebanon, a local rescue group, to help.

Rescuers arrived and spent hours trying to locate the exact spot where the kitten was hiding. After several attempts, they set a humane trap near the vent opening, hoping the kitten would come out on her own.

Eventually, hunger led her out, and she was safely caught and removed from the narrow space.

The kitten, now named Delilah, was frightened at first but slowly began to relax in the care of her rescuers. She was placed in a foster home, where she quickly learned she was safe.

In a touching show of trust, Delilah began curling up on her rescuers’ necks, as if to thank them. With each day, she grew more playful, affectionate, and confident.

Now a happy indoor cat, Delilah spends her days snuggling, playing, and hitching rides on her humans’ shoulders—a reminder of how far love and patience can take even the most frightened animal.
