Milo, a cat who had been with his family since kittenhood, faced difficult times when he started having litter box issues.
As a result, he was confined to a bathroom, where he became neglected and covered in filth. However, a compassionate family member discovered his condition and immediately took action.
Clare, a foster mom with Saving Stevie, recalled the moment: “The family member brought him to one of our veterinary partners for a thorough checkup, and they recommended reaching out to Saving Stevie, the rescue I foster through.”
Once Milo arrived in his new foster home, it didn’t take long for him to realize that he was safe and loved.
Although initially shy and reserved at the clinic, Milo slowly began to warm up after settling into his foster home.
As he explored his new environment, his demeanor changed—his eyes softened, and his body language grew more confident.
With just a few gentle chins scritches, Milo started purring and nudging Clare for more affection. “Soon enough, he recognized I was a friend,” Clare explained.
Milo quickly became known for his sweet nature, making “endless biscuits,” purring louder than expected, and always wanting to be by Clare’s side.
As he grew more comfortable, he would curl up next to her, often wrapping a paw around her arm. His soothing purrs filled the room, showing how much he cherished the love and attention he received.
“He couldn’t care less about toys as long as he has someone to snuggle with,” Clare said. “His favorite pastime is curling up in my arms while I work (as if he’s the most adorable little coworker).”
Milo insists on being near Clare at all times. When she sets up for work, he jumps into her lap, ready to provide his brand of comfort and companionship.
Whether he rests on her arm or places a paw on her hand, he’s always there, offering his purrs and snuggles throughout the day.
Despite initial concerns about his litter box habits, Milo hasn’t had any issues since being in his new home, proving that he just needed love and attention.
In addition to being a constant source of affection, Milo has become a comforting presence, especially at night, when he provides a soothing weight as he snuggles close. His mornings begin with snuggles and loud purrs, starting each day positively.
“He loves hugs, pets, and being together,” said Saving Stevie. “We’re going to find Milo a forever home where he will get unlimited love.”
Despite his past challenges, Milo is thriving in his foster care and continues to be the happiest cat when surrounded by love.
His story reminds us how a little compassion can help animals blossom into the affectionate companions they were always meant to be.
