A kitten unexpectedly became the star of Cara and Matt’s wedding, adding an unforgettable touch to their special day.
While Matt was expressing his love and commitment, a tiny kitten started making noise in the background. “I was trying so hard to listen to the beautiful words my soon-to-be-husband had written for me, and all my best friends were laughing behind me,” Cara shared

One of the groomsmen, grinning widely, stuck his head out of line, signaling that something unusual was happening. Cara turned around to find a small gray tabby perched on a tree stump behind them, demanding attention. The kitten’s perfectly timed appearance left the couple delighted.

Cara and Matt, both cat enthusiasts and proud owners of a gray and white cat named Gatsby, were thrilled by the kitten’s arrival. “Our names together are Catt. We even had cat cake toppers. So this was kind of crazy,” Cara said.

As the ceremony continued, the kitten quieted down, watching from a distance. Despite efforts from friends and family to rescue the kitten afterward, it retreated into hiding. The venue staff promised to look after her.
A week later, the staff managed to catch the kitten and took her to a shelter for a check-up. Cara and Matt were informed immediately and decided to adopt her, naming her Daisy.
“On the drive home from picking her up, she sat calmly in the carrier, purring and licking my hand. I knew right away she had found her forever home with us,” Cara recalled.

Matt is concerned about how their other cat, Gatsby, will react to Daisy. After two weeks of careful introductions, the cats became friends.

Daisy has grown into a playful and affectionate lap cat. She runs around the house with endless energy, climbing and chasing toys. Despite being shy around strangers, she quickly bonded with Cara and Matt.
“She has become very attached to both of us. My other cat has also bonded with her quickly, so now everything is a group activity,” Cara said.
Gatsby, known for “helping” with bed sheets, now has Daisy as a playful assistant. Daisy shows her affection by licking her owners’ hands, even waking up at 4 AM.
“The cat distribution system was working overtime for this one,” Cara mused, reflecting on the kitten’s serendipitous appearance at their wedding.
