Meet Dolly: The Massive Newborn Giraffe Making History at Massachusetts Zoo

A record-breaking giraffe named Dolly has recently been welcomed at Southwick Zoo in Mendon, Massachusetts.

Born two weeks ago, Dolly made a big splash by becoming the enormous newborn female giraffe in the zoo’s history.

With an impressive height of 6 feet and a weight of 150 pounds, Dolly is receiving exceptional care as her mother cannot produce milk. In the meantime, the zoo’s staff is providing her with the necessary nourishment through bottle-feeding.

Dr. Peter Brewer, the zoo’s veterinarian, has shared that it will be approximately a month before Dolly is reintroduced to her mother.

The timeline for Dolly joining the other giraffes on exhibit remains uncertain as Dr. Brewer and the team continue to monitor her progress.
