A few months ago, an incredible tale of resilience and love unfurled around a brave mother dog who overcame significant odds.
As a tiny puppy, she faced a daunting attack from larger dogs, resulting in the loss of one of her legs. Remarkably, she survived, becoming the sole survivor of her family.

Locals who were touched by her plight built her a little home in a busy business district, a place bustling with vehicles.
Despite the dangers, she endured these harsh conditions, relying entirely on food provided by sympathetic strangers.
When it came time for her to bring new life into the world, she thrived as a mother, ensuring her puppies were well-nourished and robust.
Intrigued by their new surroundings, the puppies were unaware of the magnitude of the journey they were on.
I named this resilient mother dog Naida. She was attentive and loving, despite her frail 7.8 kg frame and the challenges of mastitis and piroplasmosis, a parasitic infection.
We had the puppies examined, and fortunately, they were healthy. They cried when separated from Naida for their health checks, clearly relying on her comfort.
To protect their health and future, the puppies were vaccinated and dewormed. Although initially separated from Naida, they received excellent care and awaited adoption in new loving homes.
Adjusting to their new life, the puppies relished the warmth of a cozy bed and the company of new friends. They especially enjoyed their meal treats, which marked a shift from what they had known before.
Naida deeply missed her puppies, and though we considered reuniting them, her recovery on antibiotics meant she couldn’t nurse them just yet.
However, for possibly the first time, Naida experienced a relief from hardship.
A thorough grooming revealed her beautiful coat, and she began to enjoy moments of playfulness. A month later, following frequent vet visits, Naida was in high spirits and healthy again.
Some of her puppies had found new homes, embraced by individuals ready to offer them joy and security.
As for Naida, she stayed with me, for adopting a dog with a disability proved challenging for others.
Here, Naida found companionship, playing enthusiastically with her newfound friends across sprawling fields.
Her dreams of a better life had come true at last. With proper nutrition, she regained a healthy weight and showcased her agility, easily keeping up with other dogs.
In Naida’s story, we find a celebration of life’s simple joys—a testament to the strength of both human kindness and animal resilience.
