When a family welcomed a new baby into their home, their beloved cat, Pitocha, took on the role of dedicated guardian and friend.
Pitocha, an eight-year-old Ragdoll rescued when he was just a kitten, had always been particularly attached to his human mom. This attachment deepened when she became pregnant, with Pitocha often curling up next to her growing belly.

The cat’s owner, who goes by the name @animalilo, shared with Love Meow how Pitocha exhibited an extraordinary closeness during her pregnancy.
“Pitocha was very close to me and my belly when I was pregnant,” she explained. “He wouldn’t leave my side. This happened every day.”
Remarkably, this isn’t the first time Pitocha has shown such affection. He behaved similarly during the owner’s first pregnancy, where he also enjoyed sleeping near the baby after she was born.
Since the arrival of the newest family member, Pitocha has continued his nurturing ways. The moment they returned home from the clinic, Pitocha made it his mission to stay close to the baby.
“He almost hasn’t left her side,” the mom shared, marveling at his devotion.
As the baby started life with bottle feedings, Pitocha remained a watchful participant, observing every detail as if ensuring all was well. “I’m amazed by Pitocha’s behavior,” the mom remarked. “He is very sweet and loving to his baby sister.”
Indeed, wherever the baby goes, Pitocha follows. Whether it’s nap time or playtime, he is there, forming what is clearly a very special bond.
Their closeness is evident, with the tiny baby’s hand matching the size of Pitocha’s paw—a reminder of the beautiful friendship blossoming between them.
