When a man named Carrillo and his friend stumbled upon a dog in distress, they immediately sprang into action to help.
Upon freeing the pooch, Carrillo noted, “He seemed OK,” adding that the dog was affectionate and appeared to enjoy the attention they were giving him. It seemed likely the dog had only been in that predicament for a day or so.
The pair of plumbers took it upon themselves to transport the dog to Peewee’s Pet Adoption, a local shelter known for its no-kill policy.
Carrillo shared his relief and joy about the dog’s rescue by saying, “Look at that face,” clearly referring to how the pup seemed aware of his fortunate rescue. “He knows he was saved!”
Despite the dog suffering from heartworms, he was otherwise healthy, and treatment began promptly. “His tail won’t stop wagging,” a spokesperson from Peewee’s Pet Adoption told The Dodo, describing the dog as a “sweetheart.”
Unfortunately, the person responsible for abandoning the dog has not been identified. Nevertheless, thanks to the compassionate efforts of the plumbers, the dog now has a second chance in life.
All that’s left now is for him to find a loving forever home.
