Rambo’s Bold Bluff: From Frailty to Forever Home

Published on

Many of us have, at some point, pretended to be unwell to dodge a class or skip a social event. But for Rambo, a 10-year-old Great Pyrenees, his act of feigning frailty was all about finding love.

Rambo’s story began when he and his brother Diesel arrived at the Humane Society of Monroe County because their previous owners could no longer care for them.

At his age, Rambo faced a dramatic change in his life. While Diesel quickly found a new home, Rambo remained, seemingly heartbroken and left behind.

At the shelter, Rambo appeared weak, moved slowly, and seemed unsteady, leading the staff to believe he might need end-of-life care due to his apparent frailty.

It was a tough situation, and hopes for his adoption were slim until a volunteer named Morgan decided to foster him, providing Rambo with a peaceful, nurturing environment.

However, a surprise awaited Morgan. Once settled into her home, Rambo revealed his true nature, transforming from a frail dog into a lively, energetic companion.

One follower commented on Rambo’s antics, noting, “Look at his face… he has no shame,” while another praised the breed’s stubbornness and the joy hospice dogs bring when they surprise everyone.
