A swift airlift, facilitated by the organization’s plane, ensured that vital veterinary assistance reached the location promptly.

The Elephant, burdened by a fresh spear wound on its left thoracic area, found relief through the skilled efforts of the veterinary team.

Utilizing a Dan inject® dart rifle for immobilization, the team carefully attended to the wounded flank.


The treatment protocol involved meticulous wound cleaning using a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide, removing necrotic tissues and pus to facilitate the healing process. A protective covering of green clay was applied, promoting recovery in the natural environment.

Administering intravenous dexamethasone Hcl showcased a comprehensive approach to the Elephant’s well-being, addressing potential inflammation and enhancing the healing trajectory.

The successful conclusion of the medical intervention was marked by the reversal of anesthesia using Diprenorphine.
