Once left to fend for themselves, abandoned dogs are often seen as resilient survivors. However, their plight is far from easy, as these animals must navigate the dangers of the world alone, often experiencing fear and uncertainty.
Thankfully, caring individuals are ready to lend a hand, and such was the case when a concerned person contacted Hope For Paws about a puppy in distress.

On Valentine’s Day, a woman reached out to the rescue group to report a small puppy in a difficult situation. Despite the neighbors’ attempts to provide comfort with a blanket, the pup was too scared to move and seemed very sad.
This scene drew the attention of Hope For Paws volunteers, who quickly came to assist.
Arriving at the scene, the volunteers found the puppy trembling with fear. With patience and kindness, volunteer Loreta Fankonyte gently approached the terrified animal, hoping to reassure him.
It was a challenging task, as the puppy was initially defensive and wary. Despite this, Loreta’s persistence paid off when she slowly gained the pup’s trust and was able to secure him with a leash. The volunteers decided to name him Scooby-Roo.
After his rescue, Scooby-Roo was taken for a much-needed bath—a soothing end to a stressful day. The veterinarians determined that while he was slightly underweight, he was otherwise in good physical health.
Mentally, Scooby-Roo was still on the road to recovery, but there was hope that he would soon be his joyful self once more.
Loreta made sure Scooby-Roo got his refreshing bath before he was moved to a temporary foster home at The Forgotten Dog Foundation, marking the beginning of his journey towards healing and finding a permanent family.
Today, with the help of lots of love, care, and playful activities, Scooby-Roo is a happy and buoyant puppy. He is currently on the lookout for a forever home filled with affection, where he can share his love.
The foundation is working diligently to make this wish a reality for Scooby-Roo.
