Topper, a survivor of heart-wrenching circumstances, captured national attention when he was found stranded on the roof of a dilapidated building after his family experienced a horrific tragedy—three family members were murdered and another took their own life.

The remarkable story of Topper’s rescue involved him being carefully lifted from the roof with the help of a crane.
This once loyal dog endured the trauma of losing the only people he had ever known, leaving him the sole survivor. On the rooftop, he stood watch over the remnants of his lost world.
Despite the devastation, Topper’s gentle and affectionate nature shines through. However, due to the shelter reaching its capacity, there is an urgent need for more adopters and foster families to help save animals in similar situations.
Topper has been cared for at the shelter for six months, where the staff have shown him the meaning of love. Though he enjoys affectionate cuddles, he’s grown attached to his environment and shows reluctance to leave.
According to the shelter, he has developed a strong bond with a volunteer and, if adopted, he would require being the only dog in his new home.
Described as a well-behaved, smart, and curious dog, Topper loves engaging in activities like agility courses and solving food puzzles.
